Use the people directory that matches the role. A property owner belongs in the assessor roll. A registered agent belongs in the Secretary of State search. A past Argenta resident may be in reverse directories, newspapers, or the Laman Library genealogy room.

The North Little Rock School District staff directory is a current education directory. It can identify staff by name, title, department or building, phone, email, and image when available. It is not a student directory. The research captured examples such as a Student Support Services receptionist, an Athletic Director, and a Chief of Staff.

Use school directories for official role confirmation and department routing. Historical school personnel directories and yearbooks may appear in Arkansas Studies or civil-rights era collections, but those older scanned records should be handled with care when home addresses appear.
North Little Rock University Directory
The UA Little Rock directory matters because the university is a major central Arkansas institution near North Little Rock. It lets users filter results by People or Departments and search all employees and departments. Person pages can show name, title, email, office or location, and sometimes phone. Department pages can show location, phone, fax, website, and staff lists.

Some North Little Rock people directories are really public-records indexes. The PulaskiDeeds index is a grantor and grantee directory for land and lien records. The assessor roll is an owner-name directory with property and mailing-address fields. Search ARCourts is a party-name directory for court cases. ARCountyData reported 182,884 Pulaski parcels and a July 10, 2026 assessor-data update. That size makes the property roll much more useful than a casual phone directory for owner searches.

North Little Rock business permits are routed by the city permits page rather than exposed as one full public license database. Business permits go to the City Clerk and Treasurer. Building, remodeling, sign, and banner permits go to Planning. Specialized health and alcohol permits route to state or local specialty offices listed by the city.
Historical North Little Rock Directories
Historical North Little Rock people directories are strongest at the library and archive layer. William F. Laman Public Library lists an Arkansas History and Genealogy Room with reference books, vertical files, physical newspapers and microfilm, city directories, genealogical materials, and the Clifton E. "Gene" Hull Railroad Collection. That railroad collection is especially local because North Little Rock's history is tied to rail yards and river industry.
CALS Roberts Library explains that city directories can track residents year by year, often showing head of household, spouse, occupation, company name, alphabetic listings, and cross-reference street sections. Roberts reports Little Rock city directories in hard copy and microfilm as far back as 1921 to the current volume, with other Arkansas city hard-copy directories also available.

For a former resident, start with an address year in a reverse directory, pair it with a deed or assessor owner record, then look for probate, obituary, cemetery, school, or newspaper links.
Argenta and Local Directory Geography
North Little Rock directory research has a geography layer. The city permit page defines the Argenta Historic District as the downtown area bounded by Poplar, 9th Street, South Broadway, and North Broadway. Exterior changes there require History Commission approval. That can create names in minutes, permit files, historic district approvals, photographs, and newspaper references that do not appear in a modern staff or phone directory.
Pulaski County geography also matters. North Little Rock sits across the Arkansas River from Little Rock and shares county records, state vital records, CALS and Roberts Library resources, Laman Library resources, and Arkansas State Archives.
